The teams behind the buzzers

Every week our regulars turn up, argue over the audio round and somehow get the nearest-wins question spot on. Here they are in their own words — where the names came from, what they're dangerous at, who they most want to beat, and the moments they'll never stop retelling.

Story behind the name

Started SpeedQuizzing in lockdown when I couldn't play competitive pool any more. Now pool is still my main hobby and quiz hosting is my job!

Their edge
Speed. Slowly catching up on actually knowing stuff, but speed points have always been my friend!

Highlights & rivalries

Proudest moment
First ever win being at the Leather Bottel with my mum. We were fairly new at that point, and the Leather Bottel is notoriously difficult to win with some of the best teams about. We scraped it by 1 point, but that didn't matter!
Memorable moments
I once laughed at one of Kev's jokes so much (yes, they are hilarious), I hit the table and accidentally hit the D on the keypad. Next answer was Paddy Ashdown, so I'd gone D for… Daddy Ashdown.
