The rules
Everything that decides how your squad scores.
The concept
Instead of drafting footballers, you draft a squad of eight real quiz teams — actual teams that play at our venues. Whatever those teams get right on the night becomes your fantasy score. You never have to turn up to a quiz to play.
Building a squad
- Pick exactly eight teams from the draft pool.
- Your eight must cost £64m or less in total.
- No duplicates — eight different teams.
- One squad per person, and once entries close your squad is locked. There are no transfers, no substitutions and no captain.
Entries close at the start of the first gameweek: Monday 14 September 2026. After that the squads are fixed and the scoring begins.
Gameweeks
- A gameweek runs Monday to Sunday. The first is 14–20 September 2026.
- A team can play more than one quiz night in a gameweek. Their gameweek score is their highest correct-answer count from any single night — not a total and not an average.
- If a pick does not play at all that week, they score nothing for that gameweek. Backing teams who turn up regularly matters as much as backing teams who score well.
- Your gameweek score is the sum of all eight picks. Every pick counts equally, every week.
Prices and the form guide
- The pool is the 286 teams who have appeared at three or more of our quiz nights between 10 August and 30 September 2026 — 288 of them across the venues, counting one venue on one night as one quiz. 169 got in on the form guide, 10 August to 6 September; the other hundred and seventeen on the nights since.
- A team's price comes from their average best-of-week score across the weeks we have counted them for — the four form-guide weeks, the whole of gameweek 1, gameweek 2, Monday to Sunday, 21 to 27 September, and gameweek 3 so far — its Monday to Thursday, 28 September to 1 October, are in. The venues play different nights of the week, so a gameweek reaches the prices in instalments, and a price can move mid-week as the rest of the week's nights come in. The average shown next to each price is that same figure, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
- A hundred and seventeen teams came in after the form guide: some only became regulars once it had closed, and the rest because a gameweek is the first week we hold a record of what they scored. Sixty-eight of them have since played a second week, so they have a run of weeks behind their price and are shown like everyone else; the other forty-nine rest on a single gameweek and are the teams showing GW1 — or GW2 for the twelve of those who came in between 22 and 27 September and have not played again yet, and GW3 for the twenty-five who came in between 28 September and 1 October — in the weeks column.
- Prices move as the weeks go in, and appearing does not set a price on its own: the nights of the week of 7 September are among the 288 and count towards the three, but we hold no answer-by-answer record of them, so they sit outside every price. Some teams have the three nights and no scored week at all, and wait outside the pool until one of their nights can be counted — six of them came in on the nights of 15 September, seventeen more on the nights of 16 September, ten more on the nights of 17 September, eight more on the nights of 20 September, six more on 22 September, eight more on 23 September, six more on 24 September, one more on 26 September, one more on 27 September, three more on 28 September, seven more on 29 September, three more on 30 September and four more on 1 October, the first we could count them for. Fifteen teams came in another way, because they reached their third night on the evening that priced them: one on 18 September, four on 20 September, two on 23 September and eight on 29 September. Sixty-nine are still waiting, thirteen of them newly eligible on the Monday and Tuesday of gameweek 2, seven more on the Thursday, three more on the Sunday and eleven more on the Wednesday of gameweek 3.
- The four form-guide weeks are form guide only. They have already been played and they score no fantasy points. Everything counts from 14 September onwards.
- Juggernaut BAYBAY are priced at £14m by hand rather than by formula, because the usual sums did not do them justice.
Scoring the leaderboard
- A gameweek appears on the leaderboard once its scores have been checked and published, usually within a few days of the Sunday.
- Level on points? The squad entered first is listed first.
- “Correct answers” excludes nearest-the-number questions, which score on how close you are rather than on being right or wrong.

- Missing Dave — also Missing Dave with LJ
- In Last Place (Addlestone) is kept separate from Kerri Sharp
- Cunning Stunts (Pippin) is kept separate from Cunning Stunts Booo!!! (Tiger Moth): the two have played every one of the same six nights at different venues, so they are two teams and not one name written two ways. Both are in the pool. Cunning Stunts Booooo!!! is the Tiger Moth name with the o held down too long rather than either of them under a new name, so a longer or shorter Boo still counts as Tiger Moth’s team — while a bare Cunning Stunts, however it is punctuated, stays Pippin’s.
- Quizpicable Me is kept separate from Quizpicable Me!: the two played different venues on the same night, so they are two teams and not one name written two ways. Quizpicable Me! is in the pool, Quizpicable Me is not, and Quizpicable Me! Minus Gru is the ! team a player short rather than either of them under a new name.
A name is only merged when it is the same team at the same venue writing it a different way. quiz on my face, Quiz on my bussy and Quiz on my Chode play at different venues and count as three separate teams, not spellings of one; all three are now in the pool, and the Quiz on My Face who play the Castle Tavern and the Compasses are a fourth team who are not. Bar Staff and Bar team are not in the pool either: a bar team is the venue's own staff, so the name belongs to a different team at every venue, and a score under it is left unread rather than banked for one of them.
